Abstract


The world was immediately in shock by the Covid-19 pandemic. This pandemic has an impact in varioussectors, including education. The switch of learning systems from face-to-face to not face-to-face. One of the policies taken by the government so thateducation does not stop is online learning. With the enactment of online learning, it requires students to be independent in learning. From the results of this study are in developing the independence of grade I student online learning at MIS Al Hikmah PPPI Malang City is quite good. Its just that there are some obstacles that teacher face when teaching. The obstacles faced in fostering student independence are the teacher is difficult  to monitor students and many are late in collecting asiignment due to not having a quota. The teacher's efforts to overcome obstacles in fostering the independence by the teacher work with the parents of students and the teacher always give good encouragement and power to the students to collect assignments.
